Giardino di Boboli

This morning I was at the Boboli garden, one of the greatest open-air museums in Florence that embraces the Pitti Palace. The garden reached its current extension and appearance, becoming one of the largest and most elegant Italian style gardens, through several stages of enlargement and restructuring work carried out at diffrent times. The first works initially affected the area that was closer to the palace, after the buildung had been purchased by Cosimo I de´ Medici and by his wife Eleonora di Toledo, who had chosen this place for new grand ducal palace. The initial plan was drawn by Niccolò Tribolo, although the works were completed, after his death in 1550 by other architects including also Giorgio Vasari (from 1598 to 1561) along with Bartolomeo Ammannati and Bernardo Buontalenti under the reign of Francis I, who succeeded to his father Cosimo. The Medici and the Lorraine families continued to enrich and enlarge the garden also in 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Besides adding lovely meadows, avenues, small groves and beautiful panoramic views, they made the garden more precious by including extraordinary decorative complexes, thus forming an outdoor museum that exhibited both Roman and 16th and 17th century statues. I enjoy wandering around the garden and getting lost in its beauty.

The wrap dress

When it comes to summer dresses, wrap models are my favorites ones. I have inherited this vintage dress from my mum and it’s perfect for day-to-day wear and just my cup of tea. The design is so understated and verging on minimalistic, but the beautiful print adds an extra element to the simplicity. I have recently worn it with wedges espadrillas to have a feminine outfit.

Nothing last forever

I am back from my Parisian dream and I am going to spend the next months in Tuscany at my family house to work on my final thesis. Here in Florence it’s really hot so I’ll menage to do my best with an all black outfit composed by versatile pieces that's fresh and appropriate to the city. I’ll never tire of essential favourites that look good time after time like, in this case, a silk cami, tailored shorts and flat sandals. For me, the less details on these sartorial basics the better.
