Mon amie la rose

There is nothing I love more in the world of prints than stripes. La Marinière is a classic and gives to every outfit a chic vibe. Through years I have bought a large number of breton shirts but out of all, the one with the little red heart from Commes des Garçon is my favorite. This morning I paired it with jeans and my Dicker boots to go to Palais Royal garden that provides me tranquillity, romance and refuge from the frenzy of the city.

Plaid in Montmartre

It's been almost two month and I have been having such an amazing time here in Paris. Yesterday I went up to Montmartre for the afternoon to stroll around the tiny old streets, eat a crepe and watch the amazing view of Paris from the hill. I wore my new oversize plaid shirt with skinny jeans and flats. I think that the best ensembles are always a balance of masculine and feminine. It brings a touch of character and interest to an outfit.

Debut de l'automne

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny fall day here in Paris, perfect to go at Jardin de Tuileries. I have spent all the morning there, sit on a chair in front of the central fountain heated by the sun and surrounded by Rodin sculptures: there's no better way to start reading Nanà from Zola. In the afternoon I visited for the hundredth time Le Museé de l'Orangerie: I love the impressionist and post-impressionist painter and everytime I get inside the "waterlilies room"  I still get excited in front of Monet's painting. The use of the color express at the same time obsession, joy, peace and torment. Then I ended the day with the best way possible: with a Saint Honoré from Angelina. I wore my favorite navy cashmere sweater from Bombard: it's soft, perfectly cut and goes with everything. You have to know that I have a passion for sweaters. Besides jeans and shoes, they are the clothes I have the most of in my closet.

Castel Béranger

On Thursday morning I was in Auteuil, a mostly residential neighborhood in 16th arrondissement near Bois de Boulogne, characterized by beautiful hotels particulier from the 19th century and aristocratic properties whose gardens stretched on the back. I am particularly interested in this area because it holds the most part of Hector Guimard buildings, the major exponent of Art Nouveau architecture in Paris who is better know as the designer of the iconic metro entrances. My favorite one is Castel Béranger, and as you can see from the pictures, this building is characterized by whiplash lines and natural curves of elements of the Nature, bow-windows, exotic sources taken from the Japanese culture and the use of new innovative materials such as concrete and cast-iron, all in accordance with the construction principles of gothic architecture. It really fascinated me and it's also the main topic of my final thesis in architecture.
