A good pair of jeans are an essential part of my wardrobe. I basically live in my jeans because I always where them at home, at university and I like to dress my jeans up for any occasion, during the day with a casual top or a sweater, and in the evening with a fancy top and a pair of heels. I’ve always been faithful to Acne skin 5 (I have them in five different colors) but recently I wanted to change so yesterday I went to Acne store in rue Froissart and I find out that the Pin model is exactly what I was looking for. It’s a skinny model with high rise in mid blue wash with a vintage touch. This style is everything I need in a look, as they keep everything into place: super tight and fitted, accentuating curves and giving that urban chic vibe. I immediately worn them with the v neck cashmere sweater and Dicker boots: so simple but so chic at the same time.

If one day i disappear will you find me

While I am waiting for my new lessons’ start, I decided to go to Paris to study for a couple of week. This morning I was in Marais and after a coffee break at Café Charlot I went to Picasso Museum at Hotel Salé that houses the largest collection of his works including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, photographs and texts. It reopened to the public last year after substantial restoration work. Picasso painting is powerful, his personality is definitely over the top and eclectic. He wrote in 1935: “My picture is a sum of destructions. I do a picture, then I destroy it. In the end, though, nothing is lost: the red I took away from one place turns up somewhere else” and his inner tension is evident in all his work, and well represented by this exhibition that really helps to penetrate into his world, or at least part of it.

Creativity takes courage

The past weekend I have been at Artissima, one of the most important contemporary art fairs that takes place annually in Turin at the Oval, a glass pavilion built for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in the industrial archaeology complex of the Lingotto. The event is divided into different areas of interest, which can be grouped into four different sections: the largest one regards the tout-court event where exhibitions of international galleries are consolidated (Main Section), active Turin galleries from less than 5 years (New Entries) and galleries specializing in editions and artists' multiples (Art editions). The other sections are Present Future, devoted to emerging talents; Back to the Future, dedicated to the names that have made contemporary art with a focus this year to the pioneers of the years from '75 to 85; PER4M, section dedicated to performance.

Time is on my side

My stay in London is over and these are the pictures from my last weekend. On Saturday I went to Buckingham Palace and to walk in St. James Park, that has a small lake with two islands and the Blue Bridge across the lake affords a view west towards Buckingham Palace framed by trees. Looking east the view includes the Swire fountain to the north of Duck Island and, past the lake, the grounds known as the Horse Guards Parade, with the Horse Guards building, the Old War Office building, and Whitehall Court progressively behind. That’s really impressive. Sunday instead, was all about Tate Britain, that houses a substantial collection of the art of the United Kingdom since Tudor times, and in particular has large holdings of the works of J. M. W. Turner, who bequeathed all his own collection to the nation. The part that appreciate most is the one dedicated to Pre-Raphaelite’s works, where is the Ophelia by Sir John Everett Millais, a character from William Shakespeare's play Hamlet, singing before she drowns in a river in Denmark.
